Jin Shin Jyutsu is based on the concept of life energy that circulates throughout the universe and within each individual organism. With the stresses and strains of daily living — worries, fears, frustration, sadness or trying too hard to force life in one direction or another — the movement of life energy accumulates along various pathways throughout the body.

The Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu is balancing this life energy. Bringing balance to the body's energies promotes optimal health and well-being and facilitates one's own profound healing capacity. Through the process of “now know myself” one engages in self-study, self-help. One rediscovers the wisdom of the body, interprets the messages provided by the body and utilizes this understanding to restore balance.

Jin Shin Jyutsu can be applied as self-help or by a trained practitioner. A session will last about an hour. It does not involve massage, manipulation of muscles or use of drugs or substances. By placing the fingertips (over clothing) on designated safety energy locks, the energy system is harmonized and restored. As it induces relaxation and reduces the effects of stress, it is a valuable complement to conventional healing methods.
